Mission and objectives
The World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity, for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.
Context
The WFP GCC Global Office spearheads strategic and long-standing partnerships in the Gulf Cooperation Council GCC region in particular with the member states of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This United Nations Volunteers (UNV) assignment will contribute to the WFP GCC Global Office priority to strengthen the quality of public partnerships in the region.
National UN Expert Volunteers in United Arab Emirates are entitled to:
- Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) at the amount of AED 17588
- Annual and learning leaves;
- Entry lump sum USD 400
- Exit allowance (paid on successful completion of the assignment)
AED 1,465.67 for each month served, paid on completion of contract
- Free Medical and life insurance;
- Free access to different learning platforms
Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Partnerships and Accountability Officer the UN Volunteer will perform the following duties:
• Conduct research on partner strategies, opportunities and market trends
• Draft assessments of GCC government donors’ trends, priorities and countries of focus to be included in SharePoint and
to support key decision making by senior management
• Prepare power point presentations, funding graphs and other background material to support meetings, presentations
and discussions
• Draft, maintain and update key GCC donors’ landing pages/profiles in Salesforces, in consultation with respective
Partnership Officers
• Draft, coordinate and consolidate bi-monthly inputs on engagements with GCC counterparts
• Draft notes for the record (NFRs), briefs, biographies and minutes of meetings, when required
