Summary of the position:

The speech therapist is responsible for screening and conducting sessions for individuals facing communication challenges due to hearing impairments. He /she develops and implements personalized therapy plans based on each beneficiary's needs. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive evaluations, providing direct therapy, and following up on cases. The Speech Therapist works closely with caregivers to ensure a supportive and effective therapeutic environment.

Key relationships:

Psychiatrist, psychologist, PSS workers, MHPSS Center staff

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Examine the patient and determine the level of speech and hearing impairment
• Developing a treatment plan for patients who suffer from difficulty in articulation, treatment time programs, and following up on the patient’s performance.
• Training the patient on exercises for treating some speech disabilities
• Training and education of patients whose injuries are associated with aphasia resulting from brain damage. They are in urgent need of speech training under the supervision of a speech specialist in addition to physical therapy.
• Training children with hearing impairments, stuttering, aphasia, Down syndrome, and autism disorder.
• Collecting statistical data in the field of speech disabilities
• Apply general safety principles and rules during work and infection control procedures
• Participate in assessing the center’s need for training and equipment.
• Submit reports for patients with speech disabilities
• Performing any other tasks assigned to him/ her within his / her competence

THE CANDIDATE’S REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications required.

• A certificate from a medical institute specializing in speech and hearing
• OR a bachelor’s degree or diploma in hearing and speech rehabilitation, education, psychological counseling, or related specializations is Mandatory.
• a bachelor’s degree in education specialist is desirable.
• One year of Proven work experience as a hearing rehabilitation/speech therapist is required.

Languages:

• Advanced level in Arabic language

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

The salary will be defined according to the SAMS Turkey Office salary scale .
