- ABOUT LDHR:
Lawyers and Doctors for Human Rights is a non-governmental organization that supports civilians during crises and dedicates the time and resources to provide help to stop human rights violations and aiding people in need to be effective community members.
- POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Programs Manager, the Program Officer will be primarily responsible for the implementation of LDHR’s activities under the DRL sub-grant, and ensure transparency and integrity across all program activities.
- RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Assist the Program Manager in the effective execution of LDHR's projects by providing support in mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring timely reporting, facilitating necessary course corrections, managing project closures, conducting project assessments, and facilitating internal information dissemination.
- Oversee the implementation of the Missing Persons program, including supervising data entry and coordinating collection teams.
- Aid in the swift commencement of new projects by contributing to the design of suitable monitoring systems.
- Facilitate communication with local communities and volunteers, including frequent translation of materials between Arabic and English.
- Provide support for administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and mailing.
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of periodic reports.
- Collaborate closely with partner organizations when applicable to accomplish the tasks mentioned above.
- Participate in regular meetings and maintain communication with the field, ensuring effective information sharing with the program manager and other team members and maintaining accurate meeting records.
- Contribute to the routine collection, production, and dissemination of monthly lessons learned, coordinating with all relevant departments within the programs.
- Attend cluster meetings as assigned by the program manager.
- Contribute to regularly collecting, producing, and sharing monthly lessons learned. Coordinate this effort with all relevant program departments.
- Attend protection cluster meetings and any other cluster meetings assigned by the program manager.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health, Development, or social science or equivalent experience, with a Human Rights background.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in project management, preferably in an INGO/ NGO, in a similar role/with similar responsibilities.
- Language Skills: Fluency in Arabic, and English (written & spoken) are ESSENTIAL; Turkish is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with international development programming.
- Effective team player, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Flexible, creative, and problem-solving-oriented.
- Competence with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Proven skills in ineffective coordination, mentorship, and working in a multi-stakeholder collaborative environment.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations whilst maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
- Legally to work in Turkey (Applications with Turkish citizenship ONLY will be Considered).
