Job Description

General purpose of the job

The Grants and Partnership Officer is responsible for leading collaborative relations that help IMDAT  to achieve its mission and goals. He/She will be responsible for identifying and nurturing these relations To capture funding opportunities that are in line with iMDAT strategy.

Job Duties

  1. Identify new potential partners/donors through ongoing prospect research and maintain an updated contacts database.
  2. Reach out to potential partners/donors by handling all communication via phone, email and online meetings as needed.
  3. Develop a ready to send email communication to donor that includes iMDAT profile and usual requested documents for due diligence  
  4. Track partner/donor inquiries, questions, and needs and ensure timely responses and follow-ups.
  5. In coordination with program and operations teams, draft letters and expressions of interest, concept notes, full proposals, modification requests,
  6. Organize and participate in meetings and presentations as needed for network building with relevant actors.
  7. Analyze trends in donor priorities and local issues in Syria to keep partnerships relevant.
  8. Maintain accurate partner/donor activity notes and provide progress reports to the team.
  9. Tracks Donation progress on a monthly/quarterly basis against targets internally for all grants,
  10. Organize and play a lead role in grants kick-off meetings

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in International Development, International Relations or in a relevant field, Master degree is plus
  • 1-3 years experience in a similar capacity, ideal with INGOs.
  • Experience writing proposals, grants management, reporting and donor relations.
  • Experience and understanding of institutional donor policies, guidelines, strategies and reporting to donors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to lead and coordinate across departments,
  • Flexible, able to cope with stressful situations and frustrations,
  • Excellent inter-personal, cultural and diplomatic skills, organization skills, communication skills, time management, initiative-taking, teamwork, ambition, problem-solving skills,
  • Fluency in English - Must
  • Fluency in Turkish - plus
  • Fluency in Arabic - Plus
  • Turkish citizenship
