About Maya Vakfı
Maya Vakfı is a non-profit organization that offers mental health and psycho-social support (MHPSS) to refugee and host community children who have experienced traumatic life events, including emergencies and disasters, challenging socio-economic conditions, domestic abuse, immigration due to war, and/or losing loved ones to violence. Maya Vakfı provides trauma rehabilitation activities for children through creative workshops to encourage children to express themselves through art, music, dance, and movement activities, to helping them cope with their trauma and supporting their recovery.

Main Purpose
In the aftermath of earthquake in Turkey providing psychological support to survivors according to humanitarian principles, standards and procedures in order to improve the survivors’ mental health and psychosocial well-being. Psychological support will be provided to the affected population including local and refugee community members in Hatay province where the project is implemented.
Location & Physical Conditions
The job requires to be based in Şanlıurfa and Hatay with all the other team members until 29th February, 2024 with additional well-being break based on personal needs while considering the needs on site.
High adaptability, resfectfulness and flexibility is essential both for work with MHPSS and other team members. Bearing in mind that the service providers are accommodating in post-disasters regions, staff are expected to stay in baselines where all team members spend time in common and shared spaces. Demonstrating peaceful coexistence, honesty, kindness, professionalism, non-discrimination, and a commitment to acting as a good team player whilst staying true to oneself is key to thrive.

Responsibilities
The psychologist carries out her/his activity at the field, during daily regular visits in camp settings as part of the MHPSS team, directly reporting to the Program Coordinator. Individual, group and family sessions as well as capacity building training sessions are provided by the team, including for children/adolescents and adults, caregivers and members of professions.The psychologist is expected to mobilise a variety of tools and techniques during the interventions and participate to daily debriefing as well as supervision session.
