Job Summary:
As a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, you will provide expert surgical care to patients seeking cosmetic or reconstructive procedures. You will diagnose and treat various conditions affecting the face, body, and extremities, utilizing advanced surgical techniques to achieve optimal outcomes. In addition to performing surgeries, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educate patients, and contribute to research and academic activities in the field of plastic surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Consultations: Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess their medical history, aesthetic concerns, and treatment goals. Educate patients about available surgical options, expected outcomes, and potential risks.
- Surgical Procedures: Perform a wide range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, including but not limited to:
- Breast augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction
- Facelifts, rhinoplasty, and eyelid surgery
- Liposuction, abdominoplasty, and body contouring procedures
- Hand surgery, including tendon repair, nerve reconstruction, and microvascular surgery
- Skin grafting, flap reconstruction, and scar revision
- Gender-affirming surgeries, such as transgender mastectomy and genital reconstruction
- Preoperative Planning: Develop customized surgical plans based on patients' unique anatomy, preferences, and desired outcomes. Coordinate preoperative assessments, imaging studies, and medical clearances as needed.
- Intraoperative Care: Perform surgical procedures with precision and attention to detail, ensuring patient safety and optimal aesthetic results. Utilize state-of-the-art surgical techniques, instruments, and technologies to achieve superior outcomes.
- Postoperative Management: Provide comprehensive postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and monitoring for complications. Conduct follow-up appointments to assess patients' healing progress, address concerns, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical specialties, such as oncology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and otolaryngology, to provide integrated care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and long-term outcomes. Empower patients to make informed decisions about their healthcare and participate actively in their treatment journey.
- Teaching and Research: Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and hands-on surgical experiences.
