3.1 Responsible for the opening and closing of the surgery on a daily basis.
3.2 Is knowledgeable about Standard Precautions.
Cleans all surfaces with: A phenolic solution
Or An isopropanol alcoholic disinfectant wipe.
Or A hypochlorite solution, (except for metal surfaces)
3.3 Switches on the Dental Unit and checks that it functions. Reports any malfunctions
to BME. Water lines must be flushed through for three minutes.
3.4 Check the appointment schedule for the day and Prepares and organises files and
patient schedules daily. Checks and collects work from the Laboratory for the
patients to be seen during each session.
3.5 Maintain a stock of supplies to the requirements of the specialty of the Doctor.
3.6 Maintains the entire surgery to ensure cleanliness in order to provide a sterile
environment for each patient.
3.7 Collects sterilised instruments from the Dental CSSD area. The DSA is responsible
for ensuring that all used instruments have been sent to CSSD for sterilisation and to implement the Standard Precautions Method when preparing and working with each
patient.
