Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Chief Development Officer (CDO) plays a key role in the organization and is responsible for driving the growth and development of the business in the field of real estate development. This role includes overseeing ongoing projects, meeting schedules and budgets, and aligning strategic initiatives with the CEO and vision. The position of CDO requires a high level of business knowledge, exceptional project management skills and proven experience in real estate business development.

 


Job Description:

  • Develops and implements strategies to drive growth in the real estate industry.
  • Identify and evaluate new real estate business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis focusing on real estate trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create innovative real estate products that meet market demand.
  • Define and implement a strategic real estate plan that aligns with the organization and vision.
  • Monitor ongoing real estate projects and ensure they meet schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership to project teams that foster effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Monitor real estate performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.
  • Assess real estate risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Analyze financial data and performance indicators related to real estate projects.
  • Preparation and presentation of real estate related reports, business cases and financial analyses.
  • Track financial performance and ensure real estate projects meet budget and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with financial teams to optimize financial strategies, revenue maximization and cost control in real estate.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the real estate industry.
  • Represents the organization at real estate-related meetings, industry events and conferences.
  • Work with real estate stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns and explore partnership opportunities.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management, particularly in relation to real estate development.
  • Ensure compliance with real estate regulations, laws and industry standards.
  • Identify and reduce risks related to real estate development projects.
  • Keep abreast of real estate industry trends, regulatory changes and new opportunities.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Strategy, Finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in strategic planning, business development, and project management, with a significant focus on Real Estate Development.
