Job Description

Project Summary
The proposed project aims to strengthen women’s economic participation in Dhi Qar and Halabja by addressing the individual, institutional, and structural barriers that limit women’s access to employment, entrepreneurship, and financial services. The project adopts an integrated approach that combines women’s economic empowerment with private sector engagement, institutional strengthening, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Job Summary
The Project Assistant, under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and the overall supervision of the Director of Programs, will plan and coordinate the project and its activities and oversee project implementation to ensure that the project aligns with the set objectives as per the agreement with the donor.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Project Assistant shall perform the following duties:
· Support the implementation of project activities in all target locations in coordination with the Project Coordinator, ensuring alignment with project objectives aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation in Dhi Qar and Halabja.
· Assist in monitoring project progress and follow up on the implementation of activities related to women’s employment, entrepreneurship, access to financial services, and institutional strengthening to help ensure timely delivery of planned outputs.
· Coordinate with project staff, consultants, partners, private sector actors, financial service providers, and other departments to support the effective implementation of project activities.
· Support communication and coordination with local authorities, community leaders, women-led groups, financial institutions, employers, and other project stakeholders.
· Assist in organizing trainings, workshops, networking events, stakeholder consultations, meetings, field visits, and other project activities related to women’s economic empowerment and private sector engagement.
· Support beneficiary registration, participant tracking, activity documentation, attendance records, and project filing systems while ensuring accurate and organized record keeping.
· Collect, compile, and organize project data and assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and other project reports related to project achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
· Prepare meeting minutes, correspondence, presentations, success stories, and other project-related documents required for internal and external communication.
· Translate project documents, reports, training materials, and communication products between English, Arabic, and Kurdish (Halabja), as required.
· Conduct desk research and gather information related to women’s economic empowerment, labor market opportunities, entrepreneurship development, financial inclusion, private sector engagement, and other project-related topics.
· Coordinate logistical arrangements with suppliers, consultants, trainers, service providers, and other stakeholders to support the implementation of project activities.
· Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator to support the successful implementation and achievement of project objectives related to women’s economic empowerment, private sector engagement, institutional strengthening, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.


Required qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
· At least two (2) years of relevant experience supporting the implementation of development or humanitarian projects.
· Experience coordinating trainings, workshops, community activities, and field-based interventions is an asset.
· Strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Arabic, and Kurdish (Halabja).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook); experience with Kobo tool survey data collection is an asset.
· Ability to work effectively with local authorities, community members, partners, and private sector stakeholders.
· Willingness and ability to undertake regular field visits and travel within Iraq as required by the project.
