Role Purpose
The Finance and Operations Officer will support the day-to-day finance, administration, and procurement functions of Berghof Foundation Iraq. The role will work closely with the Finance Manager, Procurement Manager, project teams, and Berlin based finance colleagues to ensure accurate documentation, timely processing, and compliance with internal procedures.
Overview of the position:
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Starting date: 09.08.2026
Duration: limited contract until 31.12.2026
Location: Erbil, Iraq

Years of Experience: 3 to 5 years
Your main tasks:
- Support local accounting processes, including petty cash reconciliation, bank statement tracking, and the posting of relevant transactions in QuickBooks.
- Maintain organized finance records and ensure that supporting documents such as quotations, receipts, invoices, and terms of reference are complete and properly filed.
- Coordinate finance related communication with local vendors and support documentation related to local partners, in coordination with the relevant finance colleagues.
- Support procurement processes by assisting with purchase requests, procurement documentation, and the preparation of files for goods and services.
- Assist with administrative and logistical arrangements for project activities, events, travel, accommodation, and office needs.
- Support office management tasks, including payments related to office services and the management of office mobile phone credit.
- Contribute to compliance, audit readiness, and proper internal documentation across finance, administration, and procurement processes.
- Be willing to travel within Iraq to support ongoing activities and operations.
Your knowledge, experiences and skills:
- University degree in finance, accounting, business administration, management, or another relevant field.
- Relevant experience in finance, administration, procurement, or operations support, with an NGO, INGO, donor funded project, or international organization.
- a solid understanding of accounting, procurement, documentation, and filing procedures.
- Must have experience with QuickBooks.
- Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic is required. Good working knowledge of English is required.
