Consultant(s) for Online Webinar on Women Leadership Series

1. Background

People in Need (PIN) started in 1992 as a grassroots initiative by a group of Czech war correspondents who wanted to complement their reporting on conflicts and crises around the world with providing aid to those in need. Our co-founder and current director, Simon Panek, was a student activist during the Velvet Revolution, and the surge of creative energy, civic mobilization, and social responsibility during that time was the driving force behind who we are today. That’s why we are drawn to like-minded civic actors who are committed to building their communities and changing the world around them for the better.

2. About the project

As one of the largest non-profit organisations in Central and Eastern Europe, PIN works in the fields of humanitarian aid, development cooperation, human rights, education, and social inclusion across more than 30 countries. In Iraq, PIN is partnering with the Women Empowerment Organisation (WEO) to implement the Pathways to Peace (P2P) project, a 30-month EU-funded initiative aimed at strengthening the capacities of youth-led civil society organisations (CSOs), including grassroots, informal, and established groups. The project promotes inclusive peacebuilding, civic engagement, and advocacy across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

We recognize the diversity of civil society and do not envision everyone following the same path of becoming NGOs similar to us today. On the other hand, we do believe that we have much to learn from and offer to each other. 

As part of the project, PIN is implementing a Leadership Programme for 20 young women representatives of CSOs. The programme consists of four online webinars followed by a two-day face-to-face workshop. The webinar series aims to strengthen participants' leadership knowledge, confidence, awareness of their rights, and practical leadership skills while preparing them for the in-person workshop.

3. Objectives

The objective of this consultancy is to create a pool of qualified trainers who can design and deliver a series of interactive online webinars under Activity A1.5 of the Leadership Programme. Based on the selection criteria, one or more consultants may be selected from this pool to support the development of webinar content, facilitate engaging and practical sessions for participants, and contribute to strengthening leadership knowledge, skills, and peer learning. The consultancy aims to ensure high-quality, consistent, and responsive delivery of the webinar series in line with the programme’s learning objectives and implementation timeline. As the webinars will be delivered primarily in Kurdish (Sorani), consultants must be fluent in spoken Kurdish (Sorani) and have at least intermediate proficiency in English. Proficiency in Kurdish (Badini) and Arabic is considered an asset.

4. Scope of Work

Each trainer will deliver:

• Review the findings of the participants' pre-programme needs assessment provided by PIN and tailor the webinar content accordingly.
• Develop agendas, presentations, exercises, online pre-post test, and supporting learning materials for the assigned webinar(s).
• Deliver interactive online sessions using participatory adult learning methodologies.
• Facilitate discussion, reflection, and peer networking during each webinar.
• Coordinate with the PIN project team throughout the assignment.
• Submit all training materials and a brief completion report following delivery.

5. Deliverables

• Training agenda(s) for the assigned webinar(s).
• Presentation(s) and supporting learning materials.
• Facilitation of the assigned three-hour webinar(s).
• Attendance record(s).
• Pre-post test
• Brief completion report summarising implementation, participant engagement, key observations, and recommendations.

• The consultancy will be implemented between August and September 2026. Each webinar assignment is expected to require approximately two working days, including preparation, delivery, and reporting.

            1. Qualifications and Experience

1. • University degree in a relevant field.
   • Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
   • Demonstrated expertise in the assigned webinar topic(s).
   • Experience facilitating interactive online trainings for women, youth, or civil society organizations.
   • Strong understanding of the Iraqi and Kurdistan Region context.
   • As the webinars will primarily be delivered in Kurdish (Sorani), applicants must be fluent in spoken Kurdish (Sorani). Minimum intermediate proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in Kurdish (Badini) and/or Arabic is considered an asset.

    

   2. Topic-Specific Qualifications

   Applicants may apply for one or multiple webinar topics. Consultants will be evaluated based on their expertise relevant to the topic(s) they apply for.

   Webinar	Preferred Qualifications
   Webinar 1: Discovering Your Leadership Potential	Demonstrated experience in leadership development, coaching, psychology, organizational development, or personal development, with experience facilitating confidence-building and leadership programmes for women or youth.
   Webinar 2: Women, Leadership, and Rights in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq	Academic or professional background in law, human rights, gender studies, or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge of the legal framework governing women's rights in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Experience in women's rights advocacy or legal awareness programmes is highly desirable.
   Webinar 3: Leading Change in Communities	Demonstrated expertise in peacebuilding, social cohesion, community engagement, civic participation, conflict transformation, or community development, with experience working with civil society organizations.
   Webinar 4: Leadership Skills for Action	Demonstrated experience delivering training on communication, teamwork, decision-making, problem-solving, facilitation, or leadership skills, preferably for women, youth, or civil society organizations.

• Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed CV, including at least two references from individuals or organizations familiar with your work.
• Training Experience: A list of relevant trainings that they delivered, including the topic, date, client/organization (if applicable), target audience, and delivery modality (online or in-person).
• Availability: Specific dates of your availability during August and September 2026, based on the webinar schedule (approximately two working days per webinar, including preparation, delivery, and reporting).

2. Selection Process

Applicants may apply for one or more webinar topics. PIN reserves the right to select different consultants for different webinars based on their technical expertise and relevant experience.

Applications will be assessed based on the required qualifications, demonstrated experience, and relevance of previous assignments. The selection process will be conducted on a rolling basis, aligned with the webinar implementation schedule. Applications may be reviewed as they are received; however, all applications submitted by 30 August 2026 at 12:00 PM will be considered. PIN reserves the right to shortlist candidates and conduct interviews before the application deadline. Final selection and contracting will be carried out in accordance with PIN procurement procedures.
