The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is re-advertising the position of Project Manager for its humanitarian and development projects implemented across Mosul, Baaj, and Al-Qayyarah districts in Ninewa Governorate.
IID is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and qualified candidate with strong technical and operational experience in Livelihoods, SMEs, economic empowerment, and community-based development programs. The selected candidate should also have a good understanding and exposure to MHPSS, reintegration, protection, and PVE-related programming within humanitarian and stabilization contexts.
The Project Manager will oversee project implementation, coordination, monitoring, reporting, and field operations, ensuring the high-quality delivery of activities in accordance with organizational standards and donor requirements.
The Project Manager will work closely with the Executive Manager, the MEAL team, the finance and logistics departments, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and the achievement of project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the implementation of project activities across Mosul, Baaj, and Al-Qayyarah districts.
- Manage livelihoods, SMEs, entrepreneurship, vocational support, and economic empowerment activities targeting vulnerable communities and returnees.
- Support the implementation of community stabilization, reintegration, and resilience-building activities.
- Ensure integration and coordination among the livelihoods, MHPSS, reintegration, protection, and PVE components as required.
- Develop and monitor project work plans, implementation schedules, procurement plans, and spending plans.
- Ensure that project implementation aligns with approved objectives, timelines, donor requirements, and organizational procedures.
- Supervise project staff, field teams, consultants, and service providers.
- Coordinate with local authorities, government stakeholders, community leaders, and partner organizations.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of quality narrative and operational reports.
- Coordinate with the MEAL department on data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project achievements.
- Follow up on financial tracking and budget implementation in coordination with finance and operations teams.
- Ensure proper project visibility, media coverage, success stories, and documentation.
- Conduct regular field visits and provide technical and operational support to field teams.
- Participate in meetings, assessments, workshops, and coordination activities related to the project.
- Identify implementation challenges and propose practical solutions and mitigation measures.
- Ensure safeguarding, protection principles, confidentiality, and ethical standards are maintained throughout implementation.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Psychology, Humanitarian Studies, or related fields. A PhD degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 5–10 years of professional experience in project management within NGOs, INGOs, or humanitarian/development organizations.
- Strong technical and practical experience in Livelihoods, SMEs, entrepreneurship, business development, vocational training, and economic empowerment programs.
- Good understanding and experience in reintegration, MHPSS, protection, community resilience, and PVE-related programming.
- Strong experience in community-based and area-based programming within humanitarian and development settings.
- Excellent coordination, leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Strong experience in donor reporting, project implementation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Excellent English and Arabic writing and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data management systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Based in Mosul and willing to travel frequently to project locations within Ninewa Governorate.
- Previous experience working with UN agencies, donors, and government stakeholders is highly preferred.
