Detailed Responsibilities
- She/he maintains a clear understanding of MAG’s operational context and concept of operations.
- Deliver accurate and timely medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to team members.
- Refer medical cases that exceed the scope of training to appropriately qualified medical personnel.
- Ensure continuous and immediate accessibility to operational work sites.
- Verify that the ambulance is always positioned safely outside designated danger areas.
- She/he maintains all medical supplies, stores, and equipment in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition.
- Ensure all medical equipment is securely stored at the end of each working day.
- Promptly report any damage, loss, or discrepancies in medical supplies and equipment to the MAT Team Leader and Senior Medic.
- Carry out additional operational duties as assigned to support program requirements.
- He/she carries out any other operational tasks as directed to meet operational requirements
- Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to travel to other MAG base locations as required.

- Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise
- Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all MAG policies and procedures and keep informed of MAG activities
- Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
- Undertake the role in a manner appropriate to the cultural context and within the local legal framework.
Person selection criteria
The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
- A strong understanding of NGO operations and a commitment to humanitarian principles.
- She/he has experience in providing medical care in non-hospital or field-based environments.
- Ability to read and write in Kurdish and English Languages.
- The candidate should have a minimum qualification of a diploma in nursing, health sciences, or a related medical field.
- The candidate should pass Successful completion of MAG’s internal medical training course (or willingness to complete upon appointment).
- Knowledge of basic emergency medical procedures, trauma care, and pre-hospital treatment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and operational teams.
- Capacity to operate effectively in challenging, remote, or high-pressure environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other MAG base locations as required.
