About Aid Gate Organization "AGO"

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is an independent national NGO in Iraq, committed to supporting Internally Displaced Persons, returnees, and vulnerable communities across all Iraqi cities and governorates. With operations in key regions such as Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, Anbar, Nineveh, Diyala, and Basra, AGO focuses on rebuilding lives and promoting inclusivity for all, including minorities and persons with disabilities.

Background

Aid Gate Organization (AGO) is implementing the Women and Markets Project to enhance women’s economic empowerment through building sustainable, market-oriented livelihoods. The project focuses on strengthening women’s individual capacities and supporting the formation and development of women-led producer groups.

To achieve this, AGO seeks qualified trainers to deliver practical, gender-sensitive training programs covering entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and group capacity building.

  1. Purpose of the Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to design and deliver high-quality, context-appropriate training that equips women with:

  • Skills to start and manage microenterprises
  • Financial literacy and decision-making capacity
  • Ability to work effectively within producer groups
  • Leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of sustainable and circular economy practices

    . Scope of Work

    The trainer will be responsible for delivering training under two main components:

    1. Activity 2.1: Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Training

    Deliver training for 100 women beneficiaries covering:

    • Business planning and idea development
    • Budgeting and cost management
    • Customer service and market engagement
    • Negotiation skills
    • Digital literacy (basic tools relevant to business)
    • Mobile money and financial inclusion

    Key requirements:

    • Adapt training materials to local market context
    • Ensure content is suitable for low literacy participants
    • Use local language (Arabic) and simplified tools
    • Incorporate practical exercises and real-life scenarios
    • Coordinate with Vocational Training Centers (VTC) instructors
    1. Activity 1.4: Capacity Building for Producer Groups

    Deliver group-based training focusing on:

    • Group governance (roles, rules, accountability)
    • Joint planning and group business models
    • Savings schemes and internal financial systems
    • Participatory decision-making
    • Leadership and confidence building
    • Conflict resolution and communication skills

    Additional components:

    • Integrate circular economy concepts, including:
      • Resource efficiency
      • Recycling agricultural by-products
      • Upcycling waste into value-added products
    • Promote climate-resilient business practices
    • Conduct family-inclusive awareness sessions
    • Engage community leaders to reduce resistance and support women’s participation

 



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Social Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in training delivery
  • Proven experience in:
    • Entrepreneurship and financial literacy training
    • Women empowerment programs
    • Group-based capacity building
  • Experience working in Iraq or similar contexts
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to work with low-literacy groups
