Job Description

Background:
The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) is an international organisation with 21 member states and over 60 active projects in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Mediterranean and the Silk Routes region, promoting innovative, comprehensive and sustainable migration policies.


As part of its portfolio for the Silk Routes region, the ICMPD is currently supporting the Iraqi authorities in migration management, including the management of Migrant Resource Centres (MRCs) to provide outgoing, potential and returning migrants with information on a wide range of migration-related challenges and opportunities. Under the Sweden-Iraq Cooperation on Migration Governance (SI-COM) project, ICMPD works on strengthening the MRCs’ outreach efforts. This outreach work entails creating content for social media and filming material, including testimonial videos of MRC clients.


The expert will support in filming and editing video content for the MRCs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KR-I), namely in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, therefore directly contributing to strengthening the visibility and outreach capacities of the MRCs.

Tasks:
The expert will carry out the following tasks:
     ▪ Activity 1: Video recording, editing and finalisation plan
     ▪ Activity 2: Recording, editing and sharing of 5 videos for MRC social media, along with all raw video material – B roll footage - recorded.


Deliverables:
The expected deliverables to the above mentioned tasks are:

  1. Video plan for scheduling, recording, editing and finalisation of all interviews/testimonials
    30% of total payment.
  2. Successful recording, editing and sharing of the five videos for MRC social media along with all raw video material recorded.

70% of total payment.


Tentative work plan:

1. Plan for MRC videos Activity 1 A plan for scheduling, recording and editing of videos will be provided and
discussed with the project team prior to the first recording taking place. Interviews/testimonials to be scheduled.
2. Recording, editing and sharing of five videos (approx. 3-minute duration), alongside all raw video material recorded Activity 2 Five videos will be recorded, edited, and shared as agreed with the project team. Additionally, all raw video material/B- roll footage recorded during the sessions will also be shared with the project team.


The contract starts on 16 March 2026 and ends on 30 April 2026.


The total budget for this assignment is a lump sum of EUR 3000, which includes the 1) preparatory plan for video recording and editing 2) recording of video messages and raw material / B rolls 3) editing sound and video, 4) sharing all final material and videos in final and editable formats with a total of 5 finalised videos for social media, and 5) any incurring costs from the work i.e. meals, travel, etc.


Reporting lines:
The expert will report to Ms. Sahar Talib and an MRC counsellor who will be in charge of the overall supervision both in terms of administrative and content issues, and who will provide input and comments on deliverables as needed.



Qualifications and Experience:

  • General professional experience
    o Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of videography
    o Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of social media.

 

  • Specific professional experience
    o Good knowledge of videography and editing techniques
    o Experience in producing audiovisual content for social media
    o Experience in producing audiovisual content interacting directly with vulnerable populations, i.e. migrants, refugees, returnees.

 

  • Language skills
    o Proficiency in Kurdish is compulsory

 

Background information/documentation to be provided by ICMPD:

  • Previously filmed and uploaded video testimonials, and MRC social media platforms for reference

Payment Information/Schedule:

Fees for the assignment are paid upon satisfactory delivery of services and upon submission of:

  • counter-signed contract;
  • signed payment claim and reports as per the deliverable to be submitted as per the timeline.
