Job Description

IID is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Coordinator to oversee financial projects in Mosul and other locations across Iraq. The successful candidate will be based in Erbil, responsible for managing the financial team in Mosul, and ensuring accurate financial reporting to both the Financial Manager and donors. This plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee and manage all financial operations related to the Mosul project.
    • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
    • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
    • Monitor and manage project expenditures to ensure they are within the approved budget.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage the financial team in Mosul, providing guidance, training, and support.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a positive working environment.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare detailed financial reports for the Financial Manager and donors.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial reports.
    • Conduct financial analysis and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Donor Compliance:
    • Ensure all financial activities comply with donor requirements and regulations.
    • Liaise with donors to provide necessary financial information and updates.
    • Maintain thorough documentation and records for audit purposes.
  • Audit and Control:
    • Coordinate internal and external audits.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization’s assets.
    • Identify and address any financial risks or irregularities.
  • Payment and Payroll:
    • Ensure all procurement payments are processed accurately and on time.
    • Manage and report all staff payroll information.
  • Data Entry and Systems Management:
    • Enter finalized financial data into the Financial system Odoo, QuickBooks..etc.
    • Ensure all required data is accurately entered into the Donor system.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, program staff, and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
    • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 Years of Experience in Financial Management, with 2 years in a Humanitarian Organization.
  • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic; proficiency in Kurdish is an asset.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience managing financial teams and working in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage large, complex budgets.
  • Strong analytical and reporting Skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with donor-funded projects and knowledge of donor regulations and Audit requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to Mosul or any other locations across Iraq as needed.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
