1. Background
CARE Iraq and The Lotus Flower (TLF) are jointly implementing a mentorship and livelihoods project supporting women in Mosul. Existing training resources need to be consolidated into a practical, Arabic-language mentorship manual within the first month of implementation.
2. Purpose of the Consultancy
A dedicated consultant is required to produce a highly visual, practical training manual that brings together all existing CARE/TLF materials and presents them in a clear, accessible, and context-appropriate format for women participants.
We require a consultant with demonstrated expertise in converting existing training materials into highly visual, learner-friendly content. The consultant must possess strong design and layout skills to ensure the mentorship manual is accessible, engaging, and appropriate for low-literacy users.

• Potential wider use by other NGOs
4. Scope of Work
The consultant will:
• Review all existing training materials, chapter notes, slides, and tools used by CARE and TLF.
• Develop a highly visual structured manual including the following modules:
- Financial literacy (budgeting, savings, separating household/business expenses)
- Business planning (idea development, goals, step-by-step planning)
- Marketing strategies (pricing, customer outreach, branding)
- Sustainability & climate-responsible practices (resource efficiency, waste reduction)
- Safe business practices & protection (mobility, interacting safely withs uppliers, referral pathways)
- Peer mentorship and coaching skills
• Integrate practical tools: exercises, checklists, role-play prompts, case studies relevant to Mosul.
• Ensure manual is written in simple, clear Arabic with low-literacy-friendly formatting.
• Incorporate visuals and icons to support comprehension.
• Coordinate content with CARE and TLF through 2–3 check-in meetings.
• Produce printable and digital versions (including a QR-accessible version).
5. Deliverables & Timeline
The consultant is expected to complete all deliverables within a period of 10–20 days.
6. Management & Coordination
The consultant will report to CARE Iraq’s Economic Inclusion Coordinator and CARE Iraq’s Communication officer and coordinate closely with TLF Livelihood Officers.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communication, or designing learning materials.
• Proven experience developing highly visual training manuals, toolkits, or curricula.
• Strong graphic design and layout skills (icons, illustrations, infographics, lowliteracy formatting).
• Ability to convert existing text-heavy materials into clear, engaging visual content.
• Experience producing Arabic-language materials tailored for diverse literacy levels.
• Fluency in English and Arabic
• Familiarity with core topics covered in the mentorship manual (e.g., financial literacy, business planning, marketing, and income-generating activities for women) is an asset but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of the Mosul/Ninewa context is an added advantage.
