The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is a non-governmental, non-profit organization committed to supporting survivors of human rights violations through a comprehensive and holistic approach. The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is currently inviting qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the position of Project Officer, based in Sinune – Ninewa.
Position: Project Officer.
Status: Part time.
Based: Sinune – Ninewa.
Reports to: Clinical leader, Project coordinator, Senior Project Coordinator & Director of Operation Required Degree: University degree in psychology/counseling or related areas.

Contract Duration: Eight and a half months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Psychological support:
Anamnesis and diagnostics of clients
Conducting intake and diagnostic interviews by using the organization’s guidelines
Psychotherapeutic (long-term) treatment, including group and individual therapy
Regular follow-up of therapeutic progress, prevention of drop-outs and correct termination of therapy
Risk assessment and psychological intervention for cases at high risk
Regular visits to IDP and refugee camps
Regular and complete documentation of patient data into the patient files and the database
Work in an interdisciplinary team, cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners
Organization and realization of information and empowerment events and awareness activities for clients and members of marginalized groups as well as for parents and other caretakers
Regular active participation in staff-to-staff trainings, case and team supervision, as well as seminars with external trainers both in Syria and abroad
Regular self-education in relevant topics by using the center’s specialized library
Regular attendance of external workshops, conferences, briefings and other meetings of relevant civil society networks, committees and working groups.
Coordination—stakeholders:
To keep contact with and represent the project’s activities and care services in close coordination with the (Jiyan) project coordinator,
In the area related to the project,
With the staff of project partners (Mayor, Community Leaders, DoH, NGO etc.) in the field,
Collect data for establishing a service map in the area.
Collect additional data for the monitoring tasks of the project.
Identify, collect and proactively communicate information on relevant (new and current) clients to the Jiyan Project Coordinator and the MHPSS staff to identify relevant clients and other interventions,
Lead the communication with the network entity and inform the relevant programs and activities.
Update the Project Coordinator about the activities on a weekly basis.
Represent Jiyan Foundation / Project in the relevant meetings.
Monitoring and Information Management:
Collect and compile information from the center and team about upcoming activities and implementation status.
Update and maintain internal tracking systems under the guidance of the PC.
Support the Project Coordinator in monthly tracking of target implementation against set indicators and statistics; flag concerns where relevant.
Contribute to the preparation of internal progress updates and reports based on data from program staff.
Reporting:
Assist in collecting and verifying the necessary data for donor reports.
Prepare internal reports of project progress reports and submit them to the Project Coordinator .
Ensure timely updates and communication with internal departments about reporting deadlines and deliverables.
Administrative and Networking Tasks:
May liaise with stakeholders and participate in expert and partner meetings, conferences, and other external events on behalf of the DoO, including cluster meetings when relevant to the project.
Supports DoO with maintaining relationships with project partners in Iraq, and engages in networking activities with potential partners on behalf of DoO.
Shares information about project activities with the PR department to ensure proper media coverage (reports, statistics, pictures, videos, statements and interviews etc.) in coordination with the Senior Project Coordinator and DoO.
REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in Kurdish and Arabic (English skills desired)
University degree in related areas
Work experience with psychotherapy or counseling (desired)
Ability to travel, including multi-day trips both nationally and internationally
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, cooperation with other staff members, centers and external partners
Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice
Applicants for the position in Sinune, should be settled or willing to resettle in Sinune .

Paid holidays (24 days for full-time position) plus 15 statutory holidays. Additional paid holidays, especially on the occasion of religious festivals, may be agreed upon
