The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is currently inviting qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the position of Psychotherapist, based in Sinune – Ninevah.

Required Degree: University degree in psychology/counseling or related areas

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Anamnesis and diagnostics of clients
Conducting intake and diagnostic interviews by using the organization’s guidelines
Psychotherapeutic (long-term) treatment, including group and individual therapy
Regular follow-up of therapeutic progress, prevention of dropouts, and correct termination of therapy
Risk assessment and psychological intervention for cases at high risk
Regular visits to IDP and refugee camps
Regular and complete documentation of patient data into the patient files and the database
Work in an interdisciplinary team, cooperation with other staff members, centers, and external partners
Organization and realization of information and empowerment events and awareness activities for clients and members of marginalized groups as well as for parents and other caretakers
Regular active participation in staff-to-staff trainings, case and team supervision, as well as seminars with external trainers both in Syria and abroad
Regular self-education in relevant topics by using the center’s specialized library
Regular attendance of external workshops, conferences, briefings, and other meetings of relevant civil society networks, committees, and working groups.
REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in Kurdish and Arabic (English skills desired)
University degree in psychology/counseling or related areas
Work experience with psychotherapy or counseling (desired)
Ability to travel, including multi-day trips both nationally and internationally
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team, cooperation with other staff members, centers, and external partners
Active interest in promoting human rights and social justice
Applicants for the position in Sinune, should be settled or willing to resettle in Sinune .
