Overview:
The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is seeking a diligent and responsible Security Guard for our Service Delivery Centre in Mosul. The Security Guard will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the centre, its staff, visitors, and equipment. This role involves monitoring security systems, coordinating with local Iraqi security forces during emergencies, and maintaining a secure environment for our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Centre Security:

   • Monitor and control access to the service delivery centre, ensuring that only authorized personnel and visitors are permitted entry.
   • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure the safety and security of the staff, visitors, and centre assets.
   • Respond promptly to any security breaches, alarms, or other emergencies.

2. Surveillance and Monitoring:

   • Operate and monitor security cameras and alarm systems.
   • Identify and report any suspicious activities or security threats.

3. Coordination with Authorities:

   • Coordinate with the Iraqi security police and other relevant authorities in the event of an emergency.
   • Ensure that all incidents are documented and reported to the Logistics and Center Manager.

4. Support and Assistance:

   • Provide assistance and support to staff and visitors as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
   • Help with crowd control during events or busy periods.

5. Equipment Protection:

   • Safeguard all centre equipment and ensure it is protected against theft, vandalism, and damage.
   • Conduct regular checks to ensure all security equipment is functioning properly.

6. Compliance and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate logs of all security-related activities and incidents.
   • Report regularly to the Logistics and Director with updates and any issues that need addressing.

Required to adhere to IID principles and values as well as the promotion of gender justice and women's rights
Understanding of and commitment to adhere to equity, diversity, gender, child safety and staff health and wellbeing principles

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a security role, preferably in a similar environment.
• Basic understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
• Familiarity with operating security cameras and surveillance equipment.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in stressful situations.
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to security.
• Proficiency in coordinating with local security forces.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and monitoring purposes.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform patrols and other physical tasks as required.
• Proficiency in Arabic; knowledge of English is an advantage.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a resident of Mosul or willing to relocate.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times.
