About Us

The Lotus Flower is a non-governmental organization which is legally registered in the Federal Government of Baghdad and KRI. The Lotus Flower programs empower vulnerable women, girls and other community members so that they are safe, have opportunities to learn, the tools to become financially independent and the freedom to lead change. We provide safe social spaces inside refugee & IDP camps and implement projects to help them rebuild their lives and earn a living. We run multiple women’s and children centers for the IDP, refugee and host community in Iraq and have mobile teams in areas where static centers are not feasible.

The Lotus Flower services work to fill resource gaps by providing community-responsive programming which changes over time in response to feedback but revolves around 6 pillars from the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals:

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Provide individual GBV case management services including intake, assessment, safety planning, action planning, follow-up, and case closure in line with GBV case management standards and SOPs, using standardized tools and forms (consent forms, intake forms, action plans, and referral tracking).
• Manage an active caseload of GBV survivors and individuals at risk, ensuring services are delivered in a timely, confidential, and survivor centered manner.
• Conduct ongoing risk and needs assessments for each case and adjust action plans accordingly.
• Conduct safety assessments and develop individualized safety plans with survivors and at risk individuals.
• Provide immediate emotional support and basic psychosocial first aid to survivors upon disclosure.
• Ensure all case files and documentation are completed accurately and maintained securely in line with TLF data protection protocols, in line with interagency Case Management Guidelines. And standard forms.
• Facilitate internal referrals to TLF's MHPSS team, legal assistance, women and girls' sessions, and cash for protection, aligned with the survivor's informed consent and needs. 
• Facilitate external referrals to specialized GBV service providers, health facilities, legal aid organizations, and other relevant actors using updated service mapping. 
• Maintain active coordination with service providers in project location implementation  to ensure smooth referral pathways and timely follow up on referred cases. 
• Identify and respond to emergency protection situations, escalating to the Project Manager and relevant agencies without delay.
• Support the implementation of cash for protection assistance as a complementary tool within the case management process, in alignment with updated SOPs. 
• Assess eligibility and document cash assistance provided to GBV survivors in coordination with the Project management.
• Support community awareness activities on identified protection trends  , available services, in coordination with community mobilizers  and mobile team, including outreach to underserved communities in project implementation locations.
• Submit regular case management data and contribute to protection monitoring reports and donor reporting as required. 
• Report serious protection incidents or immediate concerns to the senior caseworker promptly.
• Carry out all tasks in adherence to key protection principles including do no harm, non discrimination, confidentiality, accountability, informed consent, and need-to-know principles, upholding a survivor centered approach in all interactions and prioritizing the dignity, safety, and agency of individuals served.
• The post holder will work across all project implementation sites, including Khanke, Sharya, Sumel and Zakho centers, with rotation among locations determined by operational and project needs.

• Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the line manager in line with the overall objectives of the project and the organization's operational needs.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

•   University degree with at least one year of relevant work experience.

•   Knowledge of GBV case management principles and tools

•   Minimum 1–2 years of experience in case management, psychosocial support, or protection programming.

•   Basic proficiency in English as well as strong / Arabic and Kurdish skills, written and spoken.

•   Good computer skills (MS Office, including Outlook for email).

• Strong experience in case management, GBV interventions, and provision of different trainings, including resilience and positive discipline programs.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Proven skills, including planning and budget tracking capacities.
