Job Description

  1. Purpose

The service provider will deliver confidential, culturally appropriate psychosocial support and wellbeing services to our employees particularly during crises, critical incidents, post-incident periods, and periods of cumulative work-related stress.

Support may include individual sessions, group support, debriefing, critical incident response, resilience and wellbeing sessions, and referral to specialized services, where appropriate.

  1. Scope of Services
  • Provide confidential one-to-one psychosocial support sessions, either in person or remotely.
  • Facilitate group wellbeing, resilience, stress management, and post-incident support sessions as needed.
  • Provide timely support following crises, critical incidents, or periods of heightened staff stress.
  • Offer referral guidance where specialized medical, psychiatric, protection, or other professional support is required.
  • Provide general guidance to HR or management on staff wellbeing trends, without disclosing identifiable personal information.

  • Promote staff mental health and psychosocial wellbeing.
  • Prevent and reduce stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue.
  • Strengthen coping skills and resilience.
  • Provide timely support following critical incidents or crises.
  • Promote a supportive workplace culture.
  • 4. Confidentiality, Ethics and Safeguarding

All services must be delivered in accordance with applicable professional ethical standards, safeguarding principles, and duty of care obligations. Individual information must remain confidential. Only non-identifying and aggregated information may be shared with the organization for monitoring, learning, and payment verification purposes.

Exceptions to confidentiality may apply where disclosure is required by law, professional ethical obligations, safeguarding requirements, or where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to the individual or others. Any disclosure should be limited to what is necessary and handled sensitively.

 5. Access and Referral Process

Employees, daily laborers, and service contractors may access support through self-referral, HR referral, manager referral, or emergency referral, as appropriate. Access arrangements should be communicated clearly to all eligible groups, including any differences in service availability or limits of support.

 6. Deliverables and Reporting

  • Provide psychosocial support services in line with the agreed scope and schedule.
  • Submit anonymized utilization summaries, including number and type of sessions delivered, without identifying individual users.
  • Share brief, non-identifying observations on emerging wellbeing needs, service uptake, and recommended adjustments.
  • Maintain appropriate records in line with professional standards, data protection expectations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • 7.  Duration and Modality

Duration: [e.g., 12 months / renewable]
Modality: In-person and/or remote, depending on staff needs and operational context.

 8.  Cost, Invoicing and Payment

Payment will be made per session or service delivered, based on the agreed rate. No fixed monthly lump-sum payment will apply. Invoices should be submitted in line with the agreed invoicing schedule and must include sufficient non-identifying supporting information to verify services delivered. Any cancellation, no-show, or urgent response fees should be agreed in advance and reflected in the final service agreement.

 9. Review

The effectiveness, practicality, utilization, and value of the service will be reviewed periodically and adjusted based on staff needs and operational context.



The provider should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with the Iraq and humanitarian context.
  • Cultural and language competence, particularly Kurdish and Arabic.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, licenses, and certifications.
  • Experience providing individual, group, and crisis support.
  • Experience with NGOs/humanitarian organizations is an asset.
  • Clear confidentiality and professional ethical standards.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness, including emergency support capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma-informed and survivor-centered approaches, including safe handling of sensitive disclosures and referrals.
