The Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights is currently inviting qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the position of M&E Assistant—one for each location: Ninawa, Anbar, Baghdad, Najaf, and Basrah.
Based in: Ninawa, Anbar, Baghdad, Najaf, and Basrah.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Become a key member of the Jiyan Foundation’s M&E team. Tasks and responsibilities include the following areas:
Design and implementation of internal monitoring and evaluation systems for the Jiyan Foundation’s portfolio of clinical, human rights, restorative justice, and rehabilitation programming (including M&E planning, tool development, data collection, data analysis, reporting, etc.)
Supporting project coordinators and other Jiyan staff with the planning, implementation, and reporting of M&E activities for specific projects and programs
Performing data analyses for internal and external reporting and contributing to project/program reports for donors and organizational learning (using t-test, ANOVA, correlation, regression, etc.)
Organization and implementation of internal training for Jiyan staff on monitoring and evaluation methods (e.g., introduction to monitoring tools, data entry, focus groups, etc.)
Planning and conducting interviews and focus groups, collecting feedback from clients, and implementing other communication and exchange formats aimed at understanding the impact of Jiyan’s services to inform service provision
Planning and implementation of project and program evaluations (internal or in cooperation with external contractors)
Maintenance of Jiyan Foundation’s M&E database
Cooperation with staff from different departments in the KRI, Syria, and Iraq concerning M&E tasks
Close cooperation with other members of Jiyan Foundation’s M&E team
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
At least a bachelor’s degree in statistics, evaluation, social sciences (e.g., psychology, social work), or another relevant field with a significant research component
At least two years of work experience in a monitoring and/or evaluation role
Very good knowledge and skills in the analysis of large data sets using statistical tools (e.g. SPSS or R), interpreting and describing statistical results for audiences without a scientific background
Experience with designing and implementing M&E systems and processes (using log frames, logical models, performance indicators, etc.)
Ability to develop new M&E instruments on a needs basis in collaboration with implementing staff
Strong foundation and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis
Very good knowledge of the English language in spoken and written form
Interest in working in an interdisciplinary and international team and in cooperation with partner organizations
Very good communication skills and experience with leading interviews and/or focus groups
Willingness to travel for several days within the Kurdistan-Iraq region and to Europe
Ability to work independently and under time pressure
Good understanding of psychometric instruments, their conception, application and evaluation desirable
Experience with online data collection platforms (e.g. KoBo Toolbox, LimeSurvey etc.), including implementation of online surveys, is desirable
Very good knowledge of Arabic and English languages.
Experience in international development cooperation and project work desirable
