المرشد الصحي

Main purpose of the job:

Provide individual or in group counseling and/or education sessions to patients in accordance with MSF medical and mental health protocols and procedures, with the aim of improving their psychosocial well-being.

الغرض الرئيسي من الوظيفة:

تقديم جلسات استشارية و/أو تعليمية فردية أو جماعية للمرضى وفقًا لبروتوكولات وإجراءات منظمة أطباء بلا حدود الطبية والنفسية، بهدف تحسين رفاههم النفسي والاجتماعي.

• Identify psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs for patients
• Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out, basic psycho educational sessions to patients (and their families when needed).
• Refer patients to specialists or other institutions for further assistance.
• Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities.
• Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases, preserving confidentiality.
• Take active part in trainings or supervisions and support the activities manager when necessary, in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.
• Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor.

• الترويج الفعال لخدمات الاستشارة النفسية، وتقديم جلسات تثقيفية نفسية أساسية للمرضى (وأسرهم عند الحاجة).
• إحالة المرضى إلى أخصائيين أو مؤسسات أخرى للحصول على مزيد من المساعدة.
• المشاركة في إعداد أي مواد لازمة لأنشطة الاستشارة النفسية.
• حفظ ملفات وإحصاءات الأنشطة اليومية، والمشاركة في اجتماعات الفريق لتبادل الخبرات ومناقشة الحالات الخاصة، مع الحفاظ على السرية.
• المشاركة الفعالة في الدورات التدريبية أو الإشراف، ودعم مدير الأنشطة عند الضرورة في توعية موظفي منظمة أطباء بلا حدود أو الشركاء الخارجيين بقضايا الصحة النفسية والاجتماعية.
• مناقشة الصعوبات والمشاكل في الاستشارة النفسية مع المشرف.

About the project:

The Counselor Educator will play a critical role in providing both individual and group counseling and patient therapeutic health education and support about both physical conditions (such as STIs,cervical cancer etc.) on their prevention, treatment, screening, and control, and pre-post test counseling within the integrated health care packages implemented by MSF in the selected health facilities in Sadr City of Baghdad, in close collaboration with  Ministry of Health (MoH) National Cancer Control Program. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• In collaboration with the medical team HPCE team and supervised by the MH manager implement comprehensive counseling and patient therapeutic health education and activities for both STIs, prevention, control, and targeting the general population, and cervical cancer prevention and screening, specifically targeting women of reproductive age in the selected health facilities in Sadr and Mahmoodyah.
• Educate patients, families, and communities about risk factors, prevention methods, treatment options, and the importance of regular screening and adherence to treatment protocols for both conditions. 
• Work in close collaboration with pediatricians, gynecologists, family physician and other stakeholders to provide counseling support aiming at holistic care.
• Stay informed about developments in STIs, treatment and prevention strategies, as well as cervical cancer screening and management approaches.

Women’s Health Initiative Project

• Provide basic individual counselling and psychosocial support to women accessing the Women’s Health Initiative services.
• Conduct pre- and post-test counselling for STI testing and cervical cancer screening, using agreed messages and tools.
• Ensure patients understand the purpose of testing/screening, possible outcomes, next steps and available support.
• Identify emotional distress, fear, stigma, misinformation or barriers to follow-up during counselling sessions.
• Manage simple psychosocial cases within their scope and refer complex or high-risk cases to the Psychologist.
• Support patients after positive test results or abnormal screening outcomes, in coordination with the Psychologist and medical team.
• Reinforce medical and health promotion messages in a clear, respectful and culturally appropriate way.
• Support therapeutic education related to women’s health, STI prevention, cervical cancer screening, follow-up appointments and continuity of care.
• Help patients prepare for medical consultations or procedures by addressing concerns and explaining the care pathway.
• Contribute to reducing stigma and improving patient trust through compassionate, confidential and non-judgmental communication.
• Follow agreed referral criteria and ensure timely referral to the Psychologist, medical team, HP team or external services when needed.
• Participate in case discussions, supervision sessions and team meetings with the Psychologist and wider project team.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions, referrals and follow-up needs.
• Share recurring patient concerns, misunderstandings or barriers with the Psychologist and HP team to improve patient messaging.
• Support follow-up of patients at risk of missing appointments, where relevant and according to project procedures.

سيلعب المرشد/المثقف دورًا أساسيًا في تقديم الإرشاد الفردي والجماعي، إضافةً إلى التثقيف الصحي العلاجي والدعم للمرضى حول الحالات الصحية الجسدية، مثل الأمراض المنقولة جنسيًا وسرطان عنق الرحم وغيرها، من حيث الوقاية والعلاج والفحص والسيطرة، وكذلك تقديم الإرشاد قبل وبعد الفحص، وذلك ضمن حزم الرعاية الصحية المتكاملة التي تنفذها منظمة أطباء بلا حدود في المرافق الصحية المختارة في مدينة الصدر – بغداد، وبالتعاون الوثيق مع البرنامج الوطني لمكافحة السرطان التابع لوزارة الصحة.

المسؤوليات الرئيسية:

• بالتعاون مع الفريق الطبي وفريق تعزيز الصحة والمشاركة المجتمعية، وتحت إشراف مدير الصحة النفسية، تنفيذ أنشطة إرشاد وتثقيف صحي علاجي شاملة للمرضى، تشمل الوقاية والسيطرة على الأمراض المنقولة جنسيًا، وتستهدف عامة السكان، إضافةً إلى الوقاية من سرطان عنق الرحم والفحص المبكر له، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على النساء في سن الإنجاب في المرافق الصحية المختارة في مدينة الصدر والمحمودية.
• تثقيف المرضى والعائلات والمجتمعات حول عوامل الخطورة، وطرق الوقاية، وخيارات العلاج، وأهمية الفحص المنتظم والالتزام ببروتوكولات العلاج لكلا الحالتين.
• العمل بالتعاون الوثيق مع أطباء الأطفال، وأطباء النسائية، وأطباء الأسرة، والجهات المعنية الأخرى لتقديم دعم إرشادي يهدف إلى توفير رعاية شمولية.
• البقاء على اطلاع بالتطورات المتعلقة بالأمراض المنقولة جنسيًا، واستراتيجيات العلاج والوقاية، وكذلك أساليب فحص سرطان عنق الرحم وإدارته.

مشروع مبادرة صحة المرأة:

• تقديم الإرشاد الفردي الأساسي والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي للنساء المستفيدات من خدمات مبادرة صحة المرأة.
• إجراء الإرشاد قبل وبعد الفحص الخاص باختبارات الأمراض المنقولة جنسيًا وفحص سرطان عنق الرحم، باستخدام الرسائل والأدوات المتفق عليها.
• التأكد من فهم المرضى لهدف الفحص أو الاختبار، والنتائج المحتملة، والخطوات التالية، والدعم المتاح.
• تحديد حالات الضيق النفسي، والخوف، والوصمة، والمعلومات الخاطئة، أو العوائق التي قد تؤثر على المتابعة خلال جلسات الإرشاد.
• التعامل مع الحالات النفسية والاجتماعية البسيطة ضمن نطاق المسؤولية، وإحالة الحالات المعقدة أو عالية الخطورة إلى الأخصائي النفسي.
• دعم المرضى بعد ظهور نتائج إيجابية للفحوصات أو نتائج غير طبيعية للفحص المبكر، وذلك بالتنسيق مع الأخصائي النفسي والفريق الطبي.
• تعزيز الرسائل الطبية ورسائل تعزيز الصحة بطريقة واضحة ومحترمة ومناسبة ثقافيًا.
• دعم التثقيف العلاجي المتعلق بصحة المرأة، والوقاية من الأمراض المنقولة جنسيًا، وفحص سرطان عنق الرحم، ومواعيد المتابعة، واستمرارية الرعاية.
• مساعدة المرضى على التحضير للاستشارات أو الإجراءات الطبية من خلال معالجة مخاوفهم وشرح مسار الرعاية لهم.
• المساهمة في تقليل الوصمة وتحسين ثقة المرضى من خلال التواصل الرحيم والسري وغير القائم على إصدار الأحكام.
• اتباع معايير الإحالة المتفق عليها وضمان الإحالة في الوقت المناسب إلى الأخصائي النفسي، أو الفريق الطبي، أو فريق تعزيز الصحة، أو الخدمات الخارجية عند الحاجة.
• المشاركة في مناقشات الحالات، وجلسات الإشراف، واجتماعات الفريق مع الأخصائي النفسي وفريق المشروع الأوسع.
• الحفاظ على سجلات دقيقة وسرية لجلسات الإرشاد، والإحالات، واحتياجات المتابعة.
• مشاركة المخاوف المتكررة لدى المرضى، أو سوء الفهم، أو العوائق مع الأخصائي النفسي وفريق تعزيز الصحة، بهدف تحسين رسائل التوعية الموجهة للمرضى.
