Job Description

Project Summary
The proposed project aims to strengthen women’s economic participation in Dhi Qar and Halabja by addressing the individual, institutional, and structural barriers that limit women’s access to employment, entrepreneurship, and financial services. The project adopts an integrated approach that combines women’s economic empowerment with private sector engagement, institutional strengthening, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Job Summary
The MEAL Assistant will be working on MEAL frameworks, systems, and processes, including log-frames and indicator tables, and assisting in managing MEAL tools used within the project programs. She/He will ensure comprehensive data collection and will support the programs team to ensure learning and accountability systems are put in place and working effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Head of MEAL and Reporting Unit, and overall supervision of the CED shall perform the following duties:
· Assist in preparing project MEAL plans, indicators tracking sheets, databases, and MEAL tools in line with the project’s monitoring and evaluation framework and donor requirements.
· Ensure appropriate and consistent implementation of project monitoring plans and tools, and support project staff in reviewing and updating them when necessary to effectively measure progress toward women’s economic participation outcomes.
· Track and monitor project outputs, outcomes, and expected results related to women’s employment, entrepreneurship, access to financial services, capacity-building activities, and stakeholder engagement, and present findings to management.
· Support project staff, partners, service providers, trainers, and coordinators in the collection, verification, and recording of project-related data and beneficiary information on a regular basis.
· Enter, clean, validate, and organize quantitative and qualitative data, maintain project databases, and prepare summaries and reports highlighting key findings and trends.
· Work closely with project teams to promote a culture of learning, identify lessons learned and best practices, and support the integration of findings into project implementation and future programming.
· Facilitate and/or provide translation and accurate documentation during focus group discussions, key informant interviews, stakeholder consultations, assessments, and meetings with beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders.
· Contribute to project reporting processes and support quality assurance of reports on outputs, outcomes, indicators, and results, while ensuring compliance with organizational and donor reporting requirements.
· Perform other duties as necessary, as assigned by the supervisor, to support effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning, and overall project implementation.


Required Qualifications and Skills
· A university degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Management, or another relevant field.
· At least one year of experience in MEAL, monitoring and evaluation, data management, or related roles with a local or international NGO.
· Experience with information management systems, online data collection platforms, databases, and digital reporting tools.
· Strong commitment to women’s economic empowerment, social inclusion, and development principles.
· Strong ability to work independently, including the ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks, and manage time effectively.
· High standard of spoken and written English, Arabic, and Kurdish.
· Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, data analysis, and data management tools.
· Ability to work in a demanding environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities, field conditions, and project requirements.
