This project aims to address the growing environmental challenges posed by dust and sand storms through the establishment of climate-resilient greenbelts in vulnerable areas. By applying climate-smart and sustainable land management techniques, the project seeks to reduce soil erosion, improve vegetation cover, enhance local biodiversity, and strengthen community resilience to climate change. The initiative will focus on the planning, implementation, and maintenance of greenbelt plantations using suitable native and drought-tolerant species, while promoting environmentally sustainable practices that contribute to long-term ecosystem restoration and improved livelihoods in affected communities.
The Project Coordinator, under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs, will plan and coordinate the project and its activities and oversee project implementation to ensure that the project aligns with the set objectives as per the agreement with the donor and to track expenditures as per the agreed budget.
