Livelihoods Assistant / Facilitator (Pending Donor Approval)

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is an independent, non-profit organization working in development, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response across Iraq. IID supports vulnerable communities through integrated programs in livelihoods, MHPSS, and social cohesion.

About the Position

IID is seeking qualified and motivated Livelihoods Assistants / Facilitators (Pending Donor Approval) to support the implementation of livelihood and economic empowerment activities at the field level. The role focuses on training support, beneficiary follow-up, and coordination with communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Livelihoods & Business Development Expert (Line Manager) and provide regular updates on activities and progress
• Support the implementation of livelihood activities in the field
• Assist in organizing and delivering vocational training and business development sessions
• Support beneficiary identification, registration, and selection processes
• Follow up with beneficiaries and support small business activities
• Assist in developing and monitoring Business Implementation Plans (BIPs)
• Conduct outreach and community engagement activities
• Support job placement and linkage with local markets
• Coordinate with trainers, mentors, and service providers
• Conduct regular field visits and follow-up on beneficiaries
• Maintain attendance sheets and activity documentation
• Support data collection and reporting in coordination with the M&E team
• Ensure adherence to project guidelines, safeguarding, and PSEA standards
• Identify challenges and report them to the supervisor
• Support coordination with local stakeholders when required

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
2–4 years of experience in livelihoods, training, or community-based programs
Experience working with NGOs or development projects

Basic understanding of livelihood and economic empowerment programs
Experience in vocational training or business support activities
Understanding of local markets and community needs

Strong communication and facilitation skills
Ability to work with vulnerable communities
Good organizational and reporting skills
Ability to work under pressure

Fluency in Arabic (required)
Basic English skills (preferred)
