Finance Officer (Pending Donor Approval)

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is an independent, non-profit organization working in development, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response across Iraq.

About the Position

IID is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Officer (Pending Donor Approval) based in Mosul to manage financial operations for project activities across Ninewa. The role will support all project locations by ensuring proper financial documentation, compliance, and cash management.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Finance Coordinator (Line Manager) and provide regular financial updates and documentation
• Support the financial management of project activities across all Ninewa locations
• Manage cash flow and cash distribution for project activities in line with approved budgets
• Ensure proper cash management and control procedures
• Collect, verify, and organize all financial documents from field teams
• Ensure timely submission of financial documents to the Finance Coordinator
• Support budget tracking and expenditure monitoring
• Prepare payment requests, vouchers, and supporting documents
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and documented
• Support procurement processes by ensuring financial compliance
• Coordinate with the Project Manager and field teams on financial planning
• Conduct regular follow-up with field teams to ensure complete documentation
• Support audits and financial reviews when required
• Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of financial data

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–6 years of experience in finance or accounting
Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects

Strong knowledge of financial procedures and documentation
Experience in cash management and financial reporting
Familiarity with budget tracking and expense monitoring
Good knowledge of Excel and financial systems

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High level of integrity and confidentiality

Fluency in Arabic and basic English skills
