Job Description

The Iraqi Institution for Development (IID) is an independent, non-profit organization working in development, peacebuilding, and humanitarian response across Iraq. IID focuses on supporting vulnerable communities, returnees, and youth through integrated programs in livelihoods, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), education, and social cohesion.

About the Position

IID is seeking a qualified and experienced Team Leader – Mosul (Pending Donor Approval) to oversee field-level implementation of project activities in Mosul. The Team Leader will be responsible for managing daily operations, supervising field teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery of activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Project Manager (Line Manager) and provide regular updates on implementation progress, challenges, and needs
  • Act as the focal point for IID in Mosul, representing the organization at the field level
  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day field operations in Mosul
  • Manage and supervise all field staff, including MHPSS facilitators, livelihoods staff, and support teams
  • Ensure strong team management, coordination, and performance follow-up
  • Support the Project Manager in planning, implementation, and follow-up of project activities
  • Ensure effective communication flow between field teams, the Project Manager, and support departments
  • Ensure effective coordination between MHPSS and livelihood components
  • Lead coordination with local government authorities and relevant stakeholders to facilitate implementation and approvals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and local structures
  • Support data collection processes in coordination with the M&E team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting from field staff
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting from field teams
  • Monitor the implementation of activities and ensure quality standards
  • Conduct regular field visits and follow up on service delivery
  • Organize and lead weekly and monthly team meetings
  • Support beneficiary identification, selection, and verification processes
  • Ensure adherence to project guidelines, safeguarding, and PSEA standards
  • Identify challenges and propose practical solutions to improve implementation
  • Support procurement and logistics coordination at field level
  • Participate in coordination meetings with partners and stakeholders


Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s is an asset)
4–7 years of experience in project implementation or field coordination
Experience working with NGOs or donor-funded projects

Experience in livelihoods and/or MHPSS programs
Understanding of community-based and reintegration approaches
Experience working in the Mosul/Ninewa context is highly preferred

Strong leadership and team management skills
Strong coordination and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
Strong reporting and documentation skills

Fluency in Arabic and basic English skills

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
