Function prerequisite:
The EORE Instructors purpose is to facilitate the training, education and awareness of landmines, Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) resulting in reduced risk behavior within affected communities.
Responsibilities:
In accordance with the EORE Standard Operating Procedures, National Mine Action Standards for EORE and the EORE activity plan the EORE Facilitator will provide EORE in designated communities performing the following tasks:
Conduct EORE in targeted communities following the operational plan as prepared by the EORE Team Leader;
Conduct direct MRE sessions for adults and children according to NPA SOPs, using standard and approved methodologies
Train key people in the communities to become EORE trainers;
Function as interviewer during assessments of targeted communities;
Function as data collector in targeted communities;
Function as community liaison between stakeholders/actors;
Maintain good communication with partner organisations;
Maintain good relationships with other mine action interventions in the area including those involved in survey, marking and clearance to ensure good coordination and shared knowledge.
Contribute to the reporting requirements by keeping record of daily activities, by entering the information in the relevant data S123 collection tools and as requested by line manager
Undertakes regular monitoring of activities, reports on number of beneficiaries reached, and provides updated data disaggregated by gender and age
Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by Risk Education Supervisor or RE Officer.
Adhere to all SOPs and Safety regulations adopted by the organization.
Any other duties/responsibilities might be subjected by the line manager.
Other duties:
The EORE Instructors shall be prepared to participate in on-going training before and during the operational phase:
Basic EORE course;
Course on specific Methodologies and tools;
Any other relevant training as planned by the NPA.
Required qualifications:
Education:
Must have:
Diploma in education or any relevant experience.
Desirable:
Had a course in Learning methods and intervention
Fluency in and knowledge of local dialects and cultural contexts is an advantage
Experience:
Must have:
More than 2 years' experience in this field.
Desirable:
Experience in working with International NGO`s
Other qualifications:
Excellent verbal communication and body language.
Able to work effectively under stressful situations and adapt to difficult conditions
