Role of the Communications Officer (Social Media & Intranet): The Communications Officer will strengthen SEED’s digital presence and internal communications systems through effective social media management and intranet coordination. The Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing creative, high-quality social media content that amplifies SEED’s work and engages diverse audiences across platforms. In addition, they will support the development of tools and frameworks for effective content planning, tracking, and reporting.  The Officer will manage SEED’s internal intranet platform and provide ad-hoc support for graphic design, photography, videography, and engagement with external technical contractors. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic communicator eager to build systems, create content, and contribute to a strong, ethical, and dynamic communications presence.

 

 

Specific Tasks: 

  • Manage SEED’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter), including content planning, posting, engagement, and analytics tracking.
  • Develop a structured social media calendar and tracking tools to improve planning, consistency, and performance measurement.
  • Create and edit posts, visuals, and stories that align with SEED’s mission and tone, ensuring ethical, survivor-centered storytelling.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for photography, videography, and basic design tasks, ensuring quality and alignment with SEED’s brand standards.
  • Support coordination with external contractors such as designers, printers, or developers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to SEED’s standards.
  • Manage and update SEED’s internal intranet site, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and engaging for staff.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Unit and program teams to align messages, visuals, and branding across platforms.
  • Support online campaigns and visibility initiatives across programs and donor portfolios.
  • Support documentation of communications outputs, including reporting, media archives, and analytics dashboards.
  • Provide logistical and communications support for events, launches, and campaigns as needed.
  • Uphold SEED’s safeguarding and confidentiality standards across all communications activities.


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in communications, social media, or digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage social media platforms and develop creative content.
  • Strong understanding of digital engagement trends and analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Kurdish and/or Arabic an asset.
  • Basic graphic design and/or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver within deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic team.
  • Commitment to SEED’s mission and values, including safeguarding and ethical communications.
