Job Purpose

The IEDSD Kennel handler is responsible for providing effective and safe work during kenneling activities and physical training of IEDSD in accordance with MAG Standard Operating Procedure.

Reporting structure

The line manager of the IEDSD Kennel handler will be the IEDSD MDD unit TL. Reporting will be in the first instance to the MDD Unit TL; however all activities are to be coordinated through the IEDSD Sector TFM, who will report to the TOM.     

Detailed Responsibilities

Duties and responsibility will include but not be limited to the following:

• Daily feeding, exercise, grooming, and overall health and welfare of his assigned dog

• Daily cleaning and maintenance of kennel house and surrounding walking areas for the IEDSD. 

• For maintaining the daily proficiency obedience training and mine detection of his assigned dog under guidance from IEDSD Trainer

• Assisting with the maintenance of the kennels and exercise area

• Assisting with the maintenance of the Mine Dog training fields

• Assisting other handlers as necessary with training or other issues

• Ensuring that there is an adequate supply of dog food and clean water in the field and at the kennel.

• The security of the IEDSD and other personnel by leashing the IEDSD’s at all times.

• The IEDSD safe and comfortable travel to and from the work sites.

• Report all IEDSD issues to the IEDSD Supervisor or IEDSD Unit Leader

Capacity building and HR

• Build and maintain good working relationships with all MAG staff to maximise capacity building objectives.
• Potential future operational IEDSD handler based on ability and commitment.

General Responsibilities

• Work within the framework of MAG’s core values
• Act as an ambassador for MAG.
• Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
• Participate in meetings, networks, seminars and conferences where relevant and beneficial to MAG and its mission and mandate. Where requested, give appropriate presentations in co-ordination with Country Director.
• Work in compliance with MAG's Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
• Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.

 تتمثل مهمة مجموعة العمل من أجل إزالة الألغام في إنقاذ الأرواح وتخفيف المعاناة وتمكين التنمية المستدامة من خلال الحد من أسباب ومعالجة عواقب العنف المسلح والصراع حتى يتمكن الناس من العيش بكرامة واختيار، خاليين من الخوف. سنستخدم مهاراتنا الأساسية وكفاءتنا المميزة لإنقاذ الأرواح من خلال إزالة الألغام ومخلفات الحرب المتفجرة، والحد من تأثير الأسلحة الصغيرة والأسلحة الخفيفة والذخيرة على الناس والمجتمعات. إن كيفية قيامنا بذلك مهمة بقدر ما هي مهمة ما نقوم به - فنحن نعمل في المقام الأول مع المجتمعات ومن أجلها، بالنسبة لنا "الأمر كله يتعلق بالناس".

الغرض العام من الوظيفة:

موظف بيت الكلاب الكاشفة للعبوات الناسفة مسؤول عن توفير عمل فعال وآمن أثناء أنشطة التربية والتدريب البدني للكلاب الكاشفة للعبوات الناسفة (IEDSD) وفقا لإجراءات العمل القياسية (SOP) الخاصة بمنظمة MAG.

 هيكل التقارير:

سيكون المدير المباشر لموظف بيت الكلاب في قسم IEDSD هو قائد فريق وحدة الكلاب (MDD Unit TL).

وسيتم رفع التقارير في المقام الأول إلى قائد فريق وحدة الكلاب، ومع ذلك يجب تنسيق جميع الأنشطة من خلال مدير العمليات التقنيـة في القطاع  ، و الذي بدوره سيرفع التقارير إلى مدير العمليات الميدانية (TOM).

المسؤوليات المفصلة:

الواجبات و المسئوليات  تتضمن الآتى ولكنها ليست مقتصرة عليها فقط:  

• التغذية والتمرين والتنظيف اليومية والصحة العامة والرفاهية للكلب المخصص له.
• التنظيف والإحتفاظ / الصيانة اليومية لبيت الكلاب ومناطق المشي المحيطة ببيت الكلاب الكاشفة للعبوات الناسفة IEDSD.
• الحفاظ على الكفاءة اليومية للتدريب على الطاعة والكشف عن الألغام للكلب المخصص له تحت إشراف مدرب IEDSD
• المساعدة في إحتفاظ / صيانة بيوت الكلاب ومنطقة التمرين
• المساعدة في إحتفاظ / صيانة حقول تدريب الكلاب
• مساعدة موظفي بيوت الكلاب الآخرين حسب الضرورة في التدريب أو في مسائل أخرى
• التأكد من وجود إمدادات كافية من طعام الكلاب والمياه النظيفة في الحقل وفي بيت الكلب.
• الحفاظ على أمن الكلاب الكاشفة للعبوات الناسفة والأفراد الآخرين من خلال ضبط وربط الكلاب في جميع الأوقات.
• السفر الآمن والمريح لـ IEDSD من وإلى مواقع العمل.
• الإبلاغ عن جميع القضايا المتعلقة بالـ IEDSD إلى مشرف IEDSD أو قائد وحدة IEDSD

بناء القدرات و الموارد البشرية  HR

• بناء علاقة عمل جيدة مع جميع موظفي MAG والحفاظ على هذه العلاقات لتعظيم أهداف بناء القدرات.
• مع الموقف المهني تجاه العمل، يمكن أن يتم تغيير هذا المنصب إلى منصب موظف الكلاب.

المسؤوليات العامة:

• أن يعمل في إطار القيم الأساسية لمنظمة MAG.
• أن يتصرف كسفير لمنظمة MAG.
• أن يساهم في مبادرات جمع التبرعات الأخرى حيثما كان ذلك ملائما.
• أن يشارك في الاجتماعات والشبكات والندوات والمؤتمرات حيثما كان ذلك مناسبا ومفيدًا للمجموعة الاستشارية للألغام (MAG) ومهمتها واختصاصها. وتقديم العروض المناسبة بالتنسيق مع المدير القطري، عند الطلب.
• أن يعمل وفقا لسياسات منظمة MAG التالية: "تكافؤ الفرص"، "القواعد السلوكية" "والكرامة أثناء العمل".
• أن يتعلم من برامج التدريب والتطوير المناسبة.
• أن يقوم بتنفيذ أي واجبات أخرى مناسبة للوظيفة حسب الإقتضاء.
• فهم ودعم المعايير الموضحة في إطار الحماية الخاص بمنظمة MAG، والعمل بالعناية والاهتمام الواجبين لحماية رفاهية أي شــخـص يتعامـــل مع منظمة MAG والإبلاغ عن المخاوف في حالة ظهورها.

Person selection criteria

The post holder should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• Must have the ability to read and write in the local language
• Ability to work as part of a team. 
• High level of self motivation.
• An understanding of NGOs.
• A commitment to humanitarian work.
• Ability to travel/ stay in the field when necessary.
• Prepared to work in a dog environment
• Must be physically and mentally fit for duty work during none operational hours, weekends and operational stand downs.
• Be prepared to carry out duty work during evenings, weekends and operational stand downs, the job requires 24 hour guard shifts.
•  An excellent command of spoken and written Arabic and Kurdish

• الإستعداد للقيام بالعمل أثناء المساء وعطلات نهاية الأسبوع والأوقات التي تتوقف فيها العمليات، تتطلب هذه الوظيفة نوبات حراسة 24 ساعة.
• إجادة اللغة العربية والكردية تحدثا وكتابة.
