MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Under the overall supervision and support of Project Manager, the Physiotherapist will perform the following tasks in the targeted areas (Hatra, Hawija, Tuz Khormato & Aqre), and as a member of the protection team, provide physiotherapy services for people with disabilities as follows:
- Conduct field visits with protection team for assessment and to identify people with Physical Therapy needs in communities and targeted locations.
- Planning and providing appropriate treatment activities.
- Giving advice, arranging support, and guiding family members, caregivers on how to follow-up on treatments procedures.
- Coordinate with Primary Health Care Centres to refer the beneficiaries (People with disabilities) for medical services when necessary, ensuring that the beneficiary can safely access the service.
- Coordinate with the engineer to identified the needed shelter improvements based on the type of disability and need for the individual and the household in order to have a safe, accessible and suitable and friendly shelter for people with disability .
- Monitor the progress of the patients and follow-up.
- Develop success story for best cases and share with the Project Manager.
- Ensure quality, transparency, and efficiency in all aspects of the work and most off all accountability and respect of the beneficiary.
- Provide periodic reports to line manager along with the required data.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality of all documents, issues, and personal data of the beneficiaries.
- Report to the line manager for possible requests.
- Perform additional jobs on request.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in physiotherapy or
- A minimum of three years of relevant working experience as a physiotherapist dealing with people with disabilities.
- Experience in international relief and development in a similar position is an asset
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication, negotiation skills, multi-tasking skills
- Proven capacity to work in a team in a challenging context is essential
- Experience in liaising with governmental/local authorities and NGOs
- Demonstrated ability to work in stressful environments and under pressure
- Languages:
Arabic & Kurdish
English is an assist.

- This position will be based in Shirqat covering 4 project areas: (Hatra, Hawija, Tuz Khormato & Aqre) so the applicant should have a high-level flexibility in movement throughout the project’s areas regularly to follow-up the cases.
