Background and Purpose of Assignment:

CARE will conduct a water conservation campaign to enhance water consumption practices in the community due to water scarcity and encourage the government to reuse grey water for livestock and agriculture through an initial treatment.

The purpose of the community mobilizer Volunteer is to conduct water conservation awareness through a media campaign and distribution of leaflets in the surrounding villages of the Dohuk Governorate.

Working Hours:

7 hours, 5 days per week-  

Service Provider Responsibilities: 

• Conduct house-to-house visits to educate host communities on appropriate water conservation practices through direct interpersonal communication and counseling.
• Identify water wastage and abuse practices at the household level.
• Promote appropriate actions to reduce water wastage.
• Plan and distribute developed educational materials on water conservation, such as leaflets.
• Identify and report any challenges/obstacles to the supervisor and discuss solutions.
• Help plan and carry out needs assessments, baseline studies, periodic studies, and feedback findings to stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing reports in collaboration with the supervisor.
• Collect data from the targeted community.
• Take account of gender, protection, environment, and other crucial cross-cutting WASH and Protection concerns in program design, implementation, and reporting; carry out activities that reflect the needs of specific groups and individuals, e.g., the elderly, children, women, and people with disabilities.
• Support the Supervisor in the mapping exercise to ensure all houses are in the targeted locations.
• Support the Supervisor in data collection, accurate record keeping, and management of information to measure project indicators progress.
• Perform other tasks as requested by the Supervisor.
• Liaise with community leaders and other agencies in the intervention areas to ensure coordination within the WASH sector to carry out water conservation activities among target groups.

Deliverables:

• Submit daily and weekly reports to the line manager.

• Applicants is required to have diploma degree 
• At least six months of relevant experience in Projects implemented by national/international NGOs/UN bodies/ Government.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office (for reporting).
• Good communication skills, including writing skills.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Strong training & facilitation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Kurdish and Good writing and speaking skills in English.
• Applicants are preferred to be from Zawita destrict surrounding areas: Eminke, BareBhar, Hetit, Zawita, and Besre
